Title:
MAGENTO-OPTICAL RECORDING MEDIUM
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH04232630
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To reduce the variation of the magnitude of carrier signals caused by a difference in type between recording and reproducing devices.

CONSTITUTION: This magneto-optical recording medium formed by successively piling up at least dielectric layers and magnetic films on a transparent substrate of an organic resin is constituted so that the recording medium can satisfy an equation, 1/2(smax+smin)=-k, when the light polarized in a prescribed direction and another light polarized in the direction perpendicular to the prescribed direction are made incident to the recording medium from the substrate side. The smax, smin, and k of the above-mentioned equation respectively represent the maximum phase difference between the two kinds of polarized light produced by the substrate, minimum phase difference produced by the substrate, and the phase difference produced by the multilayered film.
