Abstract:

To provide a compact drill machine of small height.

This drill machine comprises a bottom part 12, motor means 18 mounted in the bottom part to have a rotary output shaft 22, drive shaft 26 mounted in the bottom part to have a rotary shaft 32 and a series of linear outer spline 83 formed in the periphery in parallel to the drive shaft 32, slender cylindrical quill 78 provided on the drive shaft in a nesting manner so as to internally wrap the drive shaft 26 to have an inner spline 84 engaged with the outer spline 83 of the drive shaft 26 to be made movable between an upper reset position and a lower cutting position along the drive shaft 32 by engaging of both the splines 83, 84, cutting tool 90 carried by the quill to be lifted between the cutting position and the reset position, and means 60, 64, 66 lifting the quill 78 and the cutting tool 90 between the cutting position and the reset position.
