PURPOSE: To make a card available for an application requiring a high security, such as a prepaid card, by forming an information recording part made of a low-coercive force material in addition to an information recording part made of a high-coercive force material.

CONSTITUTION: In a magnetic card 1, a high-coercive force material layer 3 is uniformly formed all over the rear surface of a sheet medium 2, a part of the layer 3 is made an information recording part 3', an information recording part 4 is made of a low-coercive force material on a part of the high-coercive force material layer 3, and a printing layer 5 and a protective film 6 are provided on the top surface. In the information recording part 3', a card ID, a card face value, a balance, a card face frequency, a remaining frequency, an available period, and other information are recorded by a coil-type magnetic head. In the information recording part 4, a predetermined code pattern is formed by being coated with the low-coercive force material by a silk screen printing method or the like, and therein the card ID, the card face value, the card face frequency, the available period, and other information are recorded. Therefore, because the low-coercive force information recording part 4 cannot be interpolated even though the high-coercive force information recording part 3' can be interpolated, this card cannot be improperly used and has a high security.
