Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic disk device capable of reducing manufacturing costs and increasing manufacturing efficiency, and to provide an assembling method thereof.
SOLUTION: A carriage assembly 22 is provided so as to be freely rotated in the case of a magnetic disk device. The carriage assembly 22 has a holding frame 44 for holding a voice coil 45. A stopper 60 for regulating the rotation of the carriage assembly 22 is attached to the bottom wall of the case so as to be detached. During an operation, the stopper 60 is abutted on the holding frame to regulate the excessive rotation of the carriage assembly 22, and thus the shifting of a magnetic head from a magnetic disk is prevented. During assembling, by loading the stopper 60 while the carriage assembly 22 is rotated at a standby position shifted from a magnetic disk loading area, the stopper 60 is engaged with the recess 54 of the holding frame to regulate the rotation of the carriage assembly 22, and thus the carriage assembly 22 is held at the standby position.
