PURPOSE: To reduce the vibration of a magnetic disk so as to prevent a head clash, by providing a member which reduces vibrations in the peripheral section of plural magnetic disks fitted to a hub at regular intervals so as to surround the disks.
CONSTITUTION: Plural magnetic disks 1 are fitted to a hub 2 at regular intervals by means of a ring-like spacer 3 and the hub 2 is put on a shaft 5 supported by a bearing 4. A shroud 6 of a stationary structure body surrounding the outer periphery of the plural magnetic disks 1 is fixed to a base in the same way as the bearing 4 being fixed to the base 7. A partitioning member 8 acting as a member for reducing the vibration of the disks 1 is supported by the shroud 6 in such a way that the member puts the magnetic disks 1 between its partitioning plates. When the magnetic disks 1 are rotated by means of the rotation of the shaft 5, the air in the narrow spaces constituted by the magnetic disks 1 and the member 8 indicates a squeezing effect and wedging effect and makes such a springing and wedging actions that offset the out-of-plane vibration of the magnetic disks 1.
