Abstract:
PURPOSE:To perform a positioning for any track at a high accuracy by updating, by a servo information which is being detected, the contents of a servo information register to correspond to a zone which every data track belongs to. CONSTITUTION:In each register Ri of a servo information storage register group 16, the servo information, which is sought and read-out from the prescribed track of each zone (i) at the time of the initialization of a device, is stored. At the time of the operation of a positioning, if a magnetic head 5 is located, at first, in the track belonging to the zone (k), the servo information, read-out intermittently at this position, is stored in the servo information storage register Rk and is updated at every time of being read-out. In the case that a desired track, belonging to the zone (l), is sought by a SEEK instruction, an approximate positioning to the desired track belonging to the zone (l) is performed. After that, the information of the servo information storage register Rl is immediately read-out by a microcomputer 1, then a highly accurate positioning is performed. Afterwards, the value of the servo information is updated at every time of being read-out.
