Title:
MAGNETIC FLUID SEALING DEVICE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS6313967
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To extend a life of a seal, by providing discs fixed to a shaft above and below a magnetic fluid sealing device between the shaft and a magnetic ring.

CONSTITUTION: A permanent magnet 9 and magnetic rings 10 are located on the inside circumference of an upper cover 8 of a stationary casing, and they are fixed to a non-magnetic case. There are provided above and below the annular magnetic rings 10 discs 14a and 14b fixed to a shaft 1 with gaps 13a and 13b defined between the discs 14a and 14b and the magnetic rings 10. Accordingly, an oil splash which is a large particle of a lubricating oil 6 does not contact a magnetic fluid, thereby preventing a reduction in resistance pressure of a seal.
