PURPOSE: To record and reproduce high magnetic flux density by forming a metallic magnetic thin film at a front gap only in the vicinity of a magnetic gap and forming a characteristic improving groove at a truck facing part of a core half body.
CONSTITUTION: Out of a front gap part (g) where at both sides or one side of core half bodies 11a and 11b, a winding groove 12 is formed and further, by a truck width regulating groove 13, the truck width is formed, for example, at the front gap facing surface part at the side of the core half body 11b where the winding groove 12 is formed, a metallic magnetic thin film 14 is formed. At a core half body 11b side of the interface of the material of the thin film 14 and the core half body 11b, for example, the high permeability material such as an M11-Z11 monocrystalline ferrite, a characteristic improving groove 16 is formed. The core half bodies 11a and 11b are filled, joined by the inorganic adhesives, for example, by a glass 15 and the magnetic head is formed.
