To provide a carrier which reliably prevents carrier deposition on a photoreceptor by increasing the contact area of carriers and the contact area of the carrier and a developing roller, and which can form a high-quality image free of image deficits, and a two-component developer.
The columnar carrier is obtained by crushing a filiform product obtained by a spinning method by which a melt-kneaded product containing a resin and a magnetic material is extruded in filaments and cooled. Since the carrier has a larger contact area of carrier particles and a larger contact area of the carrier and a developing roller as compared with a spherical carrier, the adherence of carriers to each other and the adherence of the carrier to the developing roller can be increased, accordingly the carrier reliably prevents carrier deposition on a photoreceptor and can form a high-quality image free of image deficits.
