PURPOSE: To make the apparatus thinner in thickness and higher in performance with one motor system by running a tape at a constant speed at the recording and reproducing by letting a pinch roller contact a capstan and running the tape at a high speed at the fast feeding and rewinding by letting a motor run at a high speed by a changeover means.
CONSTITUTION: At the tape constant speed running operation of a tape such as at the recording and reproducing, a motor 136 runs at a constant speed and a pinch roller 168 contacts the capstan 138 directly coupled to the motor 136 thereby running the tape at a constant speed. The revolving force of the motor 136 revolves a take-up reel turntable 122 through an idler 140, thereby taking up the tape. When an operation changeover button 182 is pressed in the arrow A direction against a spring 120, a fast feed state is set and a main operating plate 100 assumes an advanced position. In cooperation with this, the pin 182 of a levr 114 operates a motor revolution changeover switch 180 to run the motor 136 at a high speed. At the same time, a pinch roller lever 182 inverts, causing the pinch roller 168 to become non- contactual with the capstan 138. The take-up reel turntable 122 then takes up the tape at a high speed. To rewind the tape, the button 182 is pushed in the B direction, then the take-up reel turntable 124 rewinds the tape at a high speed.
