PURPOSE: To realize efficiently a recording circuit by adding a pilot signal for tracking control to a PCM sound signal and adding a video luminance recording to the pilot signal so as to apply selectively each added output to each video head.
CONSTITUTION: The PCM sound signal is applied to an adder 12 via a limiter 6 and a level adjusting circuit 7, added to the pilot signal P for tracking and applied to selecting circuits 14, 15. Further, a signal P is added to a signal being the result of addition between a video chrominance recording signal C and an FM sound signal by an adder 8, led to an adder 13 via a level adjusting circuit 9 and a chroma equalizer 10, and added to a video luminance recording signal Y and applied to the circuits 14, 15. The circuits 14, 15 switch each added output in response to the position on a tape of video heads 18, 19 and apply respectively the result to the heads 18, 19.
