Abstract:
A magnetic recorder has a magnetic recording layer which is a ferromagnetic layer exhibiting vertical magnetic anisotropy. The magnetic recording layer has a magnetization inversion region, a first magnetization fixed region connected with the first boundary of the magnetization inversion region and having the direction of magnetization fixed to a first direction, and a second magnetization fixed region connected with the second boundary of the magnetization inversion region and having the direction of magnetization fixed to a second direction reverse to the first direction. In the plane where the magnetic recording layer is formed, sign of the inclination of a tangent to the circumferential edge of the magnetic recording layer is considered. Majority of the sign concerning the first magnetization fixed region is reverse to the majority of the sign concerning the second magnetization fixed region.
