Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a magnetic recording medium capable of accurately reproducing the auxiliary information while having no unevenness on the surface.
SOLUTION: In grooves 12 of a substrate 11 and in pits 13, 13..., magnetic layers are filled, and groove parts 22 and servo parts 23, 23... are formed, which are magnetically fixed parts. Recording layers 31 are laminated on the surface of the substrate 11 and brought into contact with the groove parts 22 and the servo parts 23. The surface of the recording layers 31 are formed in the flat state, and a dust is hard to stick thereto, and a magnetic head is smoothly movable. The recording layer 31 is exchangeably coupled with the servo parts 23 and the groove parts 22, and the minimum inversion magnetic field of this area is made larger than the coercive force of the recording layer 31, then the erase or inversion of the servo information does not occur at the time when the magnetic field for recording the information is applied to the data area.
