Abstract:
PURPOSE: To shorten a time required for optimization by detecting an optimized value in a state that a magnetic tape is wound around a rotary drum at a starting time of operation.
CONSTITUTION: A video signal SV is formed a digital signal by a video signal processing circuit 2, and is modulated by a modulation circuit together with a digital audio signal and is outputted to a magnetic head 16 together with a pilot signal SP. Hence a video signal SV is recorded by a video tape recorder 1. A reproducing signal SPB outputted from the magnetic head 16 at a reproducing time is converted into a digital signal by an analog/digital conversion circuit 22 and the frequency characteristics are corrected by an equalising circuit 32. At this time, when a magnetic tape 18 is loaded in the recorder 1, a relative speed of the magnetic tape 18 to the magnetic head 16 becomes a speed at the reproducing time, and then the frequency characteristics of the equalising circuit 32 is optimized during a period of time that an signal level of the reproducing signal rises by basing on a output signal ENV of an envelop detection circuit 24 as a reference.
