Abstract:

To provide a magnetic resonance imaging apparatus and a control method thereof capable of automatically setting the position and the angle of ROI with substantially same pattern as any past images.

A gradient magnetic field and a high frequency are applied to a subject to be examined arranged in a static magnetic field, and a magnetic resonance signal generated in the subject to be examined is received, and a pickup image is formed by using the magnetic resonance signal in the magnetic resonance imaging apparatus, and it is equipped with a storing part 201 for storing positional information which defines what positional relationship sets ROI for deciding the pickup section position to the standard image picked up in past, and a ROI automatic setting part 207 for setting ROI for deciding the pickup section position to the pickup image based on the positional information.
