To provide a magnetic resonance imaging apparatus in which a first order phase difference can be highly accurately corrected.
A deviation amount Δ1 of the peak position of the second spin echo from the peak position of the first spin echo is measured prior to actual scanning. A unit sensitivity pulse with prescribed intensity is applied to an RO pulse to generate a gradient magnetic field for reading a third spin echo. A shift amount Δ2 of a peak position of the third spin echo from the peak position of the first spin echo is measured. On the basis of energy amounts of the deviation amount Δ1, the shift amount Δ2, and the unit sensitivity pulse, a correction energy amount for correcting the deviation of the peak position of the second spin echo from the peak position of the first spin echo is determined. During the actual scanning, the basic pulse is supplied to the gradient magnetic field coil as a pulse for reading, and, apart from this, a correction pulse of the determined correction energy amount is supplied to the gradient magnetic field coil as a pulse for reading.
