Abstract:
To expand the measurable magnetic field range while maintaining high magnetic sensitivity.SOLUTION: A magnetic sensor 1 is comprised of: a substrate 10; an element unit 20 formed on the substrate 10 and having a magnetization free layer 21, a nonmagnetic layer 22 and a magnetization fixed layer 23; a magnetic field generation unit 70 electrically insulated from the element unit 20; and a magnetic focusing unit 30. When viewed in cross section, the magnetic field generation unit 70 has a first portion 71 located above the element unit 20 and a second portion 72 located below the magnetic convergence unit 30 so that a current flowing through the first portion 71 of the magnetic field generating unit 70 and a current flowing through the second portion 72 of the magnetic field generating unit 70 are in opposite directions to each other.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1A
