Title:
Magnetic sensor
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP5938973
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect a magnetic field irrespective of direction of applied magnetic field and to suppress reduction of magnetic sensitivity associated with the direction of applied magnetic field.SOLUTION: A first bridge circuit 5 is constituted of first through fourth magnetoresistive elements R1-R4. The first bridge circuit 5 has maximum sensitivity to a magnetic field applied in first and second directions D1 and D2 and generates first and second output voltages Am and Ap which vary in phase with magnetic field intensity. A second bridge circuit 6 is constituted of fifth through eighth magnetoresistive elements R5-R8. The second bridge circuit 6 has maximum sensitivity to a magnetic field applied in third and fourth directions D3 and D4 and generates third and fourth output voltages Bm and Bp which vary in reverse phase with magnetic field intensity. When no magnetic field is being applied, values of the third and fourth output voltages Bm and Bp are between the first output voltage Am and the second output voltage Ap.
