Abstract:
PURPOSE:To cool a casing or the like without using liquid helium by closely bringing an outer case into contact with the outside periphery of a case where a cooling head placed in a first passage is stored and arranging a second passage, where cold gas flows, on the outside periphery of the outer case. CONSTITUTION:A cooling head 12 to which a superconductive quantum interferometer 11 is attached is arranged in a casing 20. The casing 20 is made from a superconductive body and consists of an inner case 13 in which the head 12 is stored and an outer case 15 which is closely brought into contact with all of the outside peripheral of the casing 13 except an aperture part 13a and is formed from a high heat-conductive material. The head 12 is placed in a passage 16, and a tube 18 as the passage is linearly wound and welded around the outside periphery of the case 15. Cold gas (gaseous He) passes the passage 16 and the tube 18. Thus, the interferometer 11 is at an operating temperature and the case is in the superconductive state to magnetically shield the interferometer 11.
