Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely attain the canceling operation by controlling flexible deformation of a canceling member of a reel rotation braking means for restricting rotation of reels during unused condition.
SOLUTION: A magnetic tape cartridge 1 accommodates single reel, 2 having wound the magnetic tape to rotate within a cartridge case 3 and comprises a braking member 4 which restricts the rotation when a reel rotation braking means 10 which allows rotation of reel 2 during operation or restricts rotation during non-operating condition moves to be contact with or to be isolated from the reel 2, an energizing member 5 for energizing the braking member 4 in the braking direction and a canceling member 6 which integrally rotates with the reel 2 to move the braking member 4 in the canceling direction by moving depending on the chucking operation of a drive side rotating means 11. The canceling member 6 has the top area of the hexagonal shape of 180 degrees or less and this top area is larger than the triangle shape having the center lines of three lifting portion 63 as the crest points and is formed in such a manner as not interfering the projection for engagement provided to the bottom wall 21a of the reel hub 21.
