Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain a high sensitivity magneto-optical recording disc by a structure wherein an amorphous layer of rare earth-transition metal is held on a substrate made of specified polycarbonate.
CONSTITUTION: A plastic substrate consists of polycarbonate in which the content of a carbonate bond constituting unit represented by a general formula (I) in carbonate bond constituting units is 5W100% be weight of the total of the carbonate bond constituting units. In this case, X, Y, Z and W represent hydrogen atom or alkyl group having 1W6 carbon atoms and at least either one of X or W is not hydrogen atom. Further, an amorphous layer of rare earth-transition metal is held on the transparent substrate.
