Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain a magnetic head having superior wear resistance, heat resistance, adhesive strength, etc. by sticking a protective plate to a substrate having a formed magneto-resistance effect type element pattern with sodium silicate and curing the sodium silicate by a high frequency induction heating method to carry out uniform adhesion in a short time.

CONSTITUTION: A protective plate 2 is stuck to a substrate 1 having a magneto- resistance effect type element (MR element) pattern 1a formed on one side with an aqueous soln. of sodium silicate having 40±2wt% concn. and 2.7W3.1 molar ratio of SiO2/Na2O. The adhesive is uniformly heated by high frequency induction heating at 30W100MHz frequency without heating the substrate 1 to adhere perfectly the plate 2 to the substrate 1. An adhered part having superior heat resistance, ahdesive strength, hardness, mechanical strength, etc. is obtd. without forming bubbles in the adhesive layer, and an MR element of high reliability is obtd.
