Title:
MAGNETOELASTIC TORQUE SENSOR AND METHOD
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2014219402
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce noise included in a torque sensor signal caused by a magnetic field source in the vicinity.SOLUTION: A torque sensor and a method include: a hollow member extending in a longitudinal direction; a magnetoelastic active region which is magnetized so that a magnetization polarity becomes a spiral shape on an inner surface of the member as torque acting on the member increases; a plurality of primary magnetic field sensors which output first signals corresponding to a magnetic flux depending on the torque generated from the magnetoelastic active region; a secondary magnetic field sensor which is away from in an axial direction from the primary magnetic field sensors which output second signals corresponding to the magnetic flux generated by a magnetic field source in the vicinity; a secondary magnetic field sensor which is detached in the opposite direction of the axis from the primary magnetic field sensor outputting a third signal corresponding to a surrounding magnetic flux generated from the magnetic field source in the vicinity; and means for cancelling influences of the magnetic field source in the vicinity by using the second and third signals to adjust the first signal. The primary and secondary magnetic field sensors are placed inside the members extending in the longitudinal direction.
