Title:
MAIN ROPE LENGTH MEASURING JIG AND MEASURING METHOD
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH08324909
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To measure the length of a main rope by a single worker, easily and surely by providing both a bar-like body with an engaging member, which is engaged/fixed with/to a shackle connecting the main rope and an elevator car or a counter, and a level.

CONSTITUTION: With an elevator car 3 stopped at a middle part of an elevator shaft, or a position facing a counter 4, a measuring tape 17, which is connected to a measuring tape suspending wire 14, is inserted into a fixing jig 13 that is installed in a beam 22 of a machine room 1. Taking the upper end position of the fixing jig 13 as a reference point, the rope length (A) is measured, making the measuring tape 17 go accurately along a main rope 6. After this, a worker (R) moves onto the top of the elevator car 3 in order to measure the length (B) from the upper end of the beam in the machine room to a shackle 7 by means of the measuring tape 17. In addition, while the rear end of a horizontal device main body 18 is hung from the elevator car 3, the horizontality of a level gage body 18 is confirmed by using a level 19, which is installed in the level gage body 18. Then, the remaining length (C), ranging from the horizontal device main body 18 to the shackle 18 of the counter 4, is measured by using the measuring tape 17.
