A brush shaft 4 of the makeup brush 1 consists of two members: a cylindrical external member 4A with a hollow part 4Aa in a desired shape at the center and a core material 4B inserted into the hollow part 4Aa of the external member 4A. The external member 4A is made of transparent resin or glass, and desired color patterns are applied to the surface of the core material 4B. Accordingly, the color patterns on the surface of the core material 4B can be three-dimensionally viewed from outside with the lens effect of the translucent external member 4A located in the periphery.
