To decelerate a plurality of vehicles simultaneously by providing wheels with the same peripheral speed when individual wheel in a group is driven at the same peripheral speed and wheels of both groups are conveyed to the next group.

After the connection of a vehicle with a traction cable which is conveyed at fixed speed of about 8m/sec is released by a deceleration wheel 1 of a first group which is driven by motors 11 and 12 through a V belt at the same rotation speed, peripheral speed of the deceleration wheel 1 is reduced to about 2m/sec. Next, the vehicle reaches a deceleration wheel 2 of a second group which is driven by a motor 21 through a V belt. The deceleration wheel 2 reduces speed of a vehicle 10 to about 0.5m/sec or less, and the vehicle is conveyed to a wheel 3 arranged in a region of a vehicle getting off station at the speed.
