PURPOSE: To reduce abrasion of the connecting parts between movable stairs in a man conveyer in which ascending and descending stairways obliquely laid between two floors of a building are simultaneously driven by a single drive device, to reduce pits in the loop parts of the stair ways and to facilitate the assembly and adjustment thereof so as to save the labor under mass-production, by inverting the stairs around the loop parts with no load.

CONSTITUTION: A pair of trusses 1 are laid in parallel with each other, having loop parts 2, 3 formed therein, and rotary wheels 4, 5 are rotatably pivoted on the loop parts of both trusses, and are wound thereon with a transmission rope 9 to which movable stairs 10 are coupled. Ascending rollers 15, 16 and descending rollers 17, 18 are attached to each of the stairs 10. Further, guide rails 19, 20 for guiding the ascending and descending rollers are laid on the trusses 1.
