Abstract:

To control the state and behavior of a document by adding a dynamic property to the document by an application and calling the executable code of the dynamic property so as to implement a document managing function for the document.

A document management system A is equipped with a property imparting mechanism 125, which generates a property in document reference 130 made to correspond to the document 110 by a relative link 135 and adds it. Namely, the dynamic property 140 including the executable code implementing the document managing function for the document 110 according to the application 115 is added to the document 110 by the application 115. In order to implement the document managing function for the document 110, the executable code of the dynamic property 140 is called.
