PURPOSE: To make it possible to operate opening and shutting manually when a motor is not operated because of service interruption, etc., in an opening and shutting drive mechanism of an expansion gate door having such a system that a sprocket is retated by a motor to push forward or haule in a push-pull chain and that a free end frame of the expansion gate door mounted to the front end of the push-pull chain is pushed or pulled.
CONSTITUTION: An intermediate gear 16 is provided between a driving gear fixed to an output shaft 12a of a motor 12 and a follower fixed to a sprocket shaft 9. When the intermediate gear is slid in the directions of arrows (a)-(b), the engagement/detachment of the intermediate gear 16 to the driving gear 14 is made.
