Abstract:
PURPOSE: To manufacture an Al-base bearing material with superior mechanical strength and durability by melt-spraying Al on a backing steel plate to form an intermediate layer, spreading Al-base bearing powder over the layer, and carrying out heating and press bonding.
CONSTITUTION: An Al alloy contg. >98wt% Al or pure Al is sprayed on a backing steel plate to form a thin smooth intermediate layer of 0.03W0.15mm thickness. Al alloy powder contg. a prescribed bearing component is spread over the intermediate layer, heated, and united to one body by pressing between press rolls to manufacture a bearing material with superior mechanical strength, especially fatigue strength.
