To provide a method for manufacturing a barrier of a plasma display panel and which prevents the barrier buried between a resin pattern and a resin pattern from being penetrated with a peeling liquid at the time of peeling and removing the resin patterns by the peeling liquid, makes the barrier sufficiently resistant to stress due to expansion of the resin pattern at the time of peeling, prevents the barrier from being peeled out of the substrate, causes no partial defects and deformation, and gives the barrier with high shape precision.
A photosensitive resin composition layer is formed on a substrate and the photosensitive resin composition layer is exposed into patterns and developed to form a plurality of resin patterns on the substrate. A barrier material is buried between the formed resin patterns neighboring one another and dried and then the resin patterns are removed and the remaining barrier material is fired to form a barrier on the substrate. In such a barrier producing method for a plasma display panel, the barrier material is a composition containing an inorganic material, a non-curable acrylic resin, and an organic solvent.
