To enable lump setting-in of a core material so as to improve produc tivity by adding ends of a plurality of long pieces which constitute the core material through an adhesive and arranging them and cutting them to a predeter mined size in the manufacture of a building panel.
A building panel has sandwich structure consisting of a surface material 1 made of a metallic sheet, a rear surface material 11, and a flexible platelike core material 2-and has a male type fitting part A in its upper section and a female type fitting part B in its lower section. The core material 20 is formed by arranging a plurality of long pieces obtained by cutting a plate material formed by laminating inorganic fibers with a binder into a long strip in accordance with the thickness of the panel. At this time, an adhesive is applied to an end of the long piece to add long pieces in the longitudinal direction, positions of joints are deviated and arranged in a steplike condition by a steplike pusher, and the whole is cut into a predetermine length to set in them in a lump between a surface agent 1 and a rear surface agent 11 on the inner faces of which the adhesive is applied. Consequently, the strength of the building panel is improved and its productivity is improved.
