PURPOSE: To obtain a cable for a high voltage electronic equipment excellent in insulative performance by covering a tensile strength pipe having an inner diameter slightly larger than an outer diameter of a low voltage wire core part with semiconductor layers and a high voltage insulative layer made of polyethylene formed by a simultaneous extrusion molding, and inserting the low voltage wire core part into the hollow portion of the on resistant tensile strength pipe.

CONSTITUTION: A tensile strength pipe 13 such as a corrugated aluminum pipe is cover with an inner semiconductor layer 14 made of a semiconductive polyethylene composition, a high voltage insulative layer 15 made of polyethylene, and an outer semiconductor layer 16 made of the same semiconductive polyethylene composition as the inner semiconductor layer in three layers by a simultaneous extrusion molding. Furthermore, the outer semiconductor layer 16 is covered with an outer shielding layer 17 and a protective layer 18 in order, thus obtaining a semi-product of a tubular cable. Low voltage wire core part 12 prepared previously is inserted into a hollow portion inside the tension resistant pipe 13 of the semi-product. Consequently, any foreign material cannot enter inside the high voltage insulative layer 15 or an interface between the high voltage insulative layer 15 and the semiconductor layer 16. Therefore, insulative performance of the cable can be enhanced in cooperation with the property of polyethylene having a high DC breakdown voltage.
