PURPOSE: To shorten forming time by a method wherein undulation pattern is given to a ceramic formed item simultaneously with dewatering in the paper making process.

CONSTITUTION: Slurry L is poured in an artitrarily shaped container 2, at the bottom face of which a flat wire cloth 1b is provided. In succession, dewatering is done by sucking the water from below the wire cloth 1a so as to accumulate ceramic component, which is the solid content in the slurry L, on the wire cloth 1a in order to obtain a wet sheet S1, on the surface of which wavy pattern corresponding to the wave form of the wire cloth 1a is formed. The sheet S1 is dried for 10min at about 100°C and, after that, fired for 2hr at about 1200°C in order to obtain a ceramic product, on the surface of which undulation pattern is formed. Since a formed item is given undulation pattern simultaneously with dewatering during forming, the process and forming time of the item can be shortened.
