PURPOSE: To manufacture a composite molded body composed of a plastic base on the surface of which a skin material is applied by stopping a mold of an injection molding machine before being mold clamped completely, injection molding molten resin at that time, and then clamping the mold by the given pressure.
CONSTITUTION: A skin material 5 is set on the given position of a movable side mold 3 in the state that the movable side mold 3 is separated sufficiently from a fixed side mold 2, and then the movable side mold 3 is moved toward the fixed side mold 2 and stopped at the stage that the same moves to the position where the interval is 1.5 times or more of the thickness of a base plastic layer of a composite molded body to be manufactured. Then, molten resin 5 is injected from an injection molding machine 1 into a cavity forming recessed section 2a of the fixed side mold 2. At that time, since a mating surface of the movable side mold 3 and the fixed side mold 2 is inclined to a horizontal surface by the angle θ, molten resin 5 is not dropped. After that, mold clamping should be carried out under the pressure as low as possible, and the pressure should be set in the range of not damaging the flow of molten resin 5 all over the inside of the mold and decorative properties and function of a skin material 4. Cooling is carried out in said mold clamped state, and then the mold is opened and a product is released.
