PURPOSE: To make a device perform a division yet more easily and smoothly by utilizing a restoring action in the inner part of material at a time when compressive force preadded is released at the time of dividing a solid member of a connecting rod into a body and a cap, respectively.

CONSTITUTION: When dividing force Fd in the specified direction is added to a solid member W of a connecting rod and divided into a body Wb and a cap Wc, constant compressive force Fc is preadded to the solid member W from both regular and opposite directions, subsequently, it is featured that the dividing force in the specified direction is added to the solid member W while the compressive force Fc is released at the specified timing, and moreover, releasing timing of this compressive force Fc is slightly delayed with timing to which the dividing force Fc is added.
