Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain simply copper powder from industrial waste at a low cost by adding iron powder to a soln. contg. copper leached from copper-base sludge with an acidic soln.
CONSTITUTION: Copper-base sludge is treated with an aqueous soln. of HCl, sulfuric acid, nitric acid or acetic acid to leach copper from the sludge. Iron powder is added to the acidic soln. contg. the leached copper to deposit copper powder by the reduction of copper ions.
