PURPOSE: To prevent the deterioration in resistance to shock by a method wherein a heated and softened decorative plate is superposed on a substrate, having a butt end, after applying adhesive agent thereon, then, the decorative plate is bent along the butt end thereof employing a shaping sheet and is pressed by a pressing roll.
CONSTITUTION: A decorative plate 2, made of artificial marble having heat softening property and bendable by heating, is bent by a heating means and is superposed on the butt end 31 of a substrate 3 by delayed curing adhesive agent applied on the substrate 3. Then, the decorative plate is bent by pressing it with a shaping sheet 112 and, subsequently, is bent while pressing it with a pressing roll 43 to bond the decorative plate 2 to the substrate 3 along the butt end 31. The decorative plate 2 is cooled and fixed under a condition that the plate is worked by bending. According to this method, the decorative plate, in which the deterioration of resistance to shock is prevented, can be manufactured.
