To provide a method of manufacturing an electrode foil for an electrolytic capacitor capable of preventing an electrolytic condenser from being broken by a short circuit caused in a capacitor device by an abnormal voltage impression such as overvoltage, by realizing the structure of the electrode foil in which burrs produced when cutting the electrode foil do not bite into separators adjacently positioned on the inner and outer peripheral surfaces of the electrolytic foil.
A method of manufacturing an electrode foil for an electrolytic capacitor comprises the steps of: applying a laser beam to the peripheral surface of the roll 11 of an electrode foil 8 at predetermined intervals to form trenches 5 on the peripheral surface 11 of the electrode foil 8; and cutting the electrode foil 8 along the trenches and rolling it at the same time to form electrode foil rolls each of which has a predetermined width.
