Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce an electrode having superior characteristics at lower costs by reusing a waste coating material, a waste electrode material evolved in manufacturing processes for the electrode, or the electrode incorporated into a spent battery.
SOLUTION: An electrode plate formed by holding an electrode mix layer using an electrode active material powder and a thermoplastic binder as its major components on a conductive substrate is crushed. The crushed material is mixed with an organic solvent to prepare an electrode-crushed material coating material. The electrode-crushed material coating material is coated on the conductive substrate to produce the electrode. Or, an electrode mix coating material consisting of an electrode active material powder, a thermoplastic resin, and the organic solvent is dried to form an electrode solidified material. A crushed material formed by crushing the electrode solidified material is mixed with the organic solvent to prepare the electrode-crushed material coating material. The electrode-crushed material coating material is coated on the conductive substrate to produce the electrode.
