PURPOSE: To keep quality of an electroluminescent display element by composing a currenr limit layer through printing method employing paste which includes conductive fine particles, binder resin and solvent and is adjusted to have specific viscosity.
CONSTITUTION: A currenr limit layer 4 is composed through printing method employing paste which includes conductive fine particles, binder resin and solvent and is adjusted to have viscosity of 1×104 to 1×106cps. High molecular material having porality group is preferably employed as the conductive powder included in the currenr limit layer 4. Mixing ratio of the conductive powder and the binder resin is preferably in the range of 1:4 to 4:1 of volume. An electroluminescent display element is thus kept in high quality, particlularly a pattern etching portion is prevented from being destroyed.
