PURPOSE: To produce the toner capable of reducing fogging and stably forming images high in precision by agglomerating and heat treating the wet granulated toner in a specified temperature range.
CONSTITUTION: The spherical toner is formed by melting the raw material comprising at least a resin and a colorant and finely dividing it in a molten state into fine spherical particles in a liquid medium. After drying, these particles are agglomerated and heat treated in the temperature range of from the glass transition point of the resin up to +20°C above the point and then disintegrated and classified, thus permitting the obtained toner to be sharpened in the size distribution, so, enhanced in electric charge distribution, and improved in powder fluidity and fixability, accordingly, reduced in fogging and to stably obtain images high in precision.
