PURPOSE: To prevent occurrence of cracks by forming an inclined drip at an end with the use of a shiplap process.
CONSTITUTION: An inclined drip 2 is formed in one end part of a fired inorganic material plate 1 by a shiplap process, and the thickness of a shiplap processed part 3 as the drip 2 has a gradient so that the difference between the thickness l2 of the root and the thickness L of the body part 4 is eliminated, and the gradient θ of the drip 2 is set in a range from about 15 to 16deg. Then, a base material 5 such as clay or cement is prepared, and is subjected at its end part to a shiplap process so as to form the drip 2, and is applied at its outer surface with a glazing material 6 before it is fired in a furnace so that a plate is produced. With this arrangement, the difference between the thickness of the processed part 3 and the body 4 is gradually changed so as to effect an alleviating function for generated stress, thereby it is possible to prevent occurrence of cracks in the drip 2.
