To provide a manufacturing process of a gas discharge panel capable of suppressing the formation of an air collection part on the lower side of a phosphor layer.
A partition 42 is vertically formed on one surface 52 of a dielectric layer 48 (one surface of a back plate 38). A projection 69 is formed in a part of a peak 58 of the partition 42. As the forming process of a phosphor layer, phosphor paste 70 is applied from the peak 58 side of the partition 42 to form a phosphor layer 56 on the one surface 52 of the dielectric layer 48 and the side surface 54 of the partition 42. By these processes, a color plasma display panel is manufactured. Therefore, in the phosphor layer forming process, phosphor paste 70 is coated so that a gap 78 is formed between the partition 42 and the projection 69 based on difference in height between the projection 69 and the peak 58 of the partition 42 in the position in the periphery of the projection 69.
