Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a header tank of a heat exchanger and a die used for manufacture the same, in which a clearance between both ends of a header tank material is kept constant when the header tank is formed, and a brazing characteristic and an anti-pressure characteristic of the header tank are improved. SOLUTION: There is provided a method for manufacturing a header tank in which a flat plate-like header tank material 4A is made to be round in sequence by a plurality of dies to form a tubular header tank. The header tank raw material 4A is made to be round in sequence. When the header tank raw material becomes a substantial tubular form, dies 18 are abutted against both right and left end 4B, 4B of the header tank raw material and the outer circumference of the tubular member, so as to correct the positions of both right and left side ends 4B, 4B. In addition, the die 18 is provided with a protrusion 19b against which both right and left side ends of the header tank raw material of tubular form are abutted. There are provided an upper die 19 for holding an upper semicircular outer circumference of the substantial tubular form of the header tank raw material, and a lower die 20 for holding a lower semicircular outer circumference.
