Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To manufacture a heat image-forming material free from occurrence of trouble, such as streaks and uneven coating, smooth on the surface, high in sensitivity, low in fog, and superior in photographic performance by adding a hardener into a coating solution for a protective layer at a specified time.
SOLUTION: This heat image-forming material comprises a heat image- forming layer containing an organic silver salt and the protective layer containing the hardener and a hydrophilic colloid, and a coating solution for the heat image-forming layer to be used contains the organic silver salt and a reducing agent for silver ions and a polymer latex. The heat image-forming layer and the protective layer are formed by using this coating solution successively or at the same time or at any time. A range of time of adding the hardener for the protective layer is a range between a time before the coating by 30 minutes and immediately before the coating, preferably, a time range between 10 minutes before the coating and 10 seconds before it.
