To provide a film having an excellent bonding capability by a method wherein when a polyimide film is manufactured by heat-treating a film which is cast-coated by casting, the heating temperature and the heating period of time are controlled.
On an endless belt 20 made of stainless steel or an aluminum alloy, etc., which is wound around a pulley 18 having a cooling means, a composition of a polyimide precursor solvent solution which is uniformly cast into a film-form from a die 22 is carried. A volatile component and an organic solvent which generate by a hardening reaction of the film which is uniformly heated at a parallel stream solidification chamber 10, are transpired by a gas 24 which is fed, and after pre-solidifying the film to a degree wherein the fluidity of the film does not exist, the film is continuously or in steps heated at a jetting stream solidification chamber 12, and by a gas which is jetted under a jet stream form, the volatile component and the organic solvent are transpired. The film which has been solidified and dried to a degree having a self-supporting property, is peeled from the endless belt 20 at a peeling chamber 14, and by gradually rising a temperature at a tender chamber, the transformation into an imide is completed, and by being cooled by a slow cooling furnace, the film of which the bonding capability is improved is obtained.
