Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for efficiently manufacturing a hollow rack bar while increasing the work quantity in one working process, and a device therefor.
SOLUTION: The hollow rack bar manufacturing device comprises a die 1 to position and hold a hollow tubular work W, a clamper 2 to fix the work W positioned and held by the die 1, a rack die 3 to form a rack tooth profile to the work W positioned, held and fixed by the die 1, a mandrel 5 to press the work W against the rack die 3 to form the rack tooth profile on the work W by being moved in the axial direction with respect to the work W, a press means to support the rack die 3, and press the work W positioned, held and fixed by the die 1 in its radial direction, and a mandrel moving means 6 to relatively move the mandrel 5 inserted in the work W so as to draw out of the work W, and the final rack tooth profile is formed after a rough tooth profile is formed on the work W.
