PURPOSE: To provide a method for manufacturing a key top which allows a pattern layer with a burred surface to be formed coherently on a key top base.

CONSTITUTION: A polyester film is stuck to an aluminum foil with a frosted surface on one side to obtain a base sheet 1 having a burred 7 front. Next, a pattern layer 2 is formed on the frosted side of the aluminum foil of the base sheet 1 using screen printing technique, to obtain a transfer sheet 3. After that, the transfer sheet 3 is put on a key top base material 4 of ABS resin with a burred 7 surface. Then a heated pad 5 is thermally pressed starting with the base sheet 1 side of the transfer sheet 3. Finally, the base sheet 1 is peeled off and removed after the front of the key top base material 4 is cooled to become hardened.
