Abstract:

To provide a manufacturing method for a large-diameter pipe of ultrahigh molecular weight polyethylene capable of responding to even a wide variety and small quantity of products.

This is a manufacturing method for a large-diameter pipe of ultrahigh molecular weight polyethylene, in which rolls 4, 5 being larger than the pipe are arranged at the inner diameter side and outer diameter side of a wall thickness pipe preliminarily formed of ultrahigh molecular weight polyethylene having 3.0 dl/g or more, and then the rolls are rotated at a peripheral speed of 10-100 m/min while applying a pressure of 200-300 kg/cm in linear pressure to the pipe 1 by the rolls 4, 5 for 2-60 min, thereby expanding 1.05 times or more the inner diameter and outer shape of the pipe 1.
